NOTE: This behavior may contribute to insufficient balance errors.
Users with outgoing (sell, trade, transfers) transaction with a matching fee token are improperly handling fees.
Our engineering team is working to resolve this behavior but if you are in a hurry as tax season approaches you can manually edit these transactions to only account for a single fee.
This process is very manual and is not recommended if you have a lot of Coinbase Pro transactions.
Workaround:
You can address these transactions by adding the fee to the outgoing quantity (if the quantity is the same token ie ETH). You can then edit the transaction to change the outgoing quantity.
Our team is working on a fix and should be released shortly, thank you for your patience!

Hi I have a related issue. You are showing me as having an insufficient balance for bitcoin and ethereum transfers from coinbase to coinbase pro, but if I download all of my coinbase history as a CSV from you, the numbers add up exactly, e.g. see below. What is the best way for me to fix this?

Insufficient Balance Error - multiple

I have 9 transactions this past year that indicate "insufficient balance" in my wallet. Half are trades, and the others are direct transfers from CoinbasePro to Coinbase when they were consolidated late in the year.
There's clearly enough funds to execute the transactions, otherwise the trade wouldn't have been allowed. Which is the same as many other posts in this thread.
The recent software update/patch didn't resolve these errors.
Will you please help me resolve these discrepancies?

Hello CT-0qo6jxGO, thank you for reaching out! It looks like 8 of the 9 insufficient balance fees are related to Coinbase Pro. We have fixed the primary issues with mishandling of fees that could result in double counting fees.
We automatically updated Coinbase Pro accounts with no manual transactions a did not make any changes to accounts with manual transactions. You can see our update here.
We are aware of some lingering fee mishandling that is only affecting a subset of users which includes you. I am going to merge this post to the primary Coinbase Pro post for future updates. You can expect an update early-mid next week. Thank you for your patince!

Sam: Updated/fixed a few transaction, but now all cost basis calculations are zero. Additionally, the Tax Center says there are 5 transactions that require attention but displays all my transactions for the year and not any of them require attention. Glitch?? Ideas?

We have deployed an update for Coinbase Pro, Binance, Binance US, Gemini, and Kraken fee handling. The update is being rolled out in increments to users with 0 manual edited / ignored transactions for those exchanges, users should see the changes reflected over the next day or so.
If you have already made manual edits to transactions in your Coinbase Pro account, you will likely not see these changes. You can alternative, remove and re-add your Coinbase Pro account to see prompt the update to your Coinbase Pro account.

Coinbase Pro USDC bal errs but numbers in CSV are OK.

Previously reported in help ticket 147819 but repeating here per Sam's request to document things in Canny. Problem is erroneous insufficient balance warning in Coinbase PRO USDC wallet.
- Cointracker web page shows insufficient balance and txn needs review warnings.
- The CT CSV version of these transactions shows balance is actually OK.
- Cointracker CSV numbers match Coinbase PRO CSV numbers +/- rounding at the 8th decimal place.
See attached screencaps.
