Track / maintain contracts and token price history for forked or archived tokens
submitted
Sam - CoinTracker
CoinTracker does not create or maintain outdated token price pages for forked or inactive tokens - when a token is forked and a contract is outdated CoinTracker will replace an existing price page with the newest one and will not keep the outdated page live.
As an example here are 3 separate FLOKI INU contract addresses:
- https://etherscan.io/token/0xcf0c122c6b73ff809c693db761e7baebe62b6a2e (current v2)
- https://etherscan.io/token/0x43f11c02439e2736800433b4594994bd43cd066d (outdated v1)
- https://etherscan.io/token/0x2de72ada48bdf7bac276256d3f016fe058490c34 (old old)
These three contracts are all mapped to the same FLOKI token (Image 1) and price page in CoinTracker: FLOKI INU.
To account for these discrepancies for other forked tokens, users will need to create a custom currency for each forked token and replace / edit the transactions of the incorrectly mapped tokens with the appropriate custom currency.
Users can verify the contract address for their transactions by selecting the [...]More Actions > tx hash option (Image 2).
We will update this post once we have improved our forked token support! Thank you for your patience.

Merged in a post:
Forked tokens duplicated in self-custody wallets and exchanges.

CoinTracker maps forked or outdated tokens to their most recent contracts.
In this example there are 3 separate forks of FLOKI INU:
The current workaround if the forked token has drastic changes in price:
Create a custom currency for each token (e.g. FLOKI) fork and separate FLOKI fork tokens by varying price, specifically the price of the token on those exact dates. You can specify the price of the custom currency on that date in the custom currencies edit page:
Example of custom currencies:
FLOKI-v1-01/11/21
FLOKI-v1-01/27/21
FLOKI-v0-08/01/19

CoinTracker maps crypto / assets from wallets based on the contract address provided by the blockchain explorer. For user's reporting this token mapped correctly and then mapped incorrectly is a result of a new contract by the blockchain explorer. We then reference the contracts to Nomics and CoinMarketCap to confirm token pricing. In this case the new contract is not supported by Nomics.
Nomics (New): N/A
CoinMarketCap(New): https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/reserve-rights/
New Contract (New): https://etherscan.io/token/0x320623b8e4ff03373931769a31fc52a4e78b5d70

Note: To help fast track this process please fill out the Asset Listing Request (https://nomics.typeform.com/to/RfUTo8gn) Form for Nomics to update the above asset. Nomics is pretty quick to list new assets and will email the requestor back when it is listed.
