Discrepancy in Unrealized and Total Return Values on Mobile App
Sam - CoinTracker
Users may experience:
- Users reported the breakdown of the Unrealized return and the Total return values are not correct on the mobile app
- There is a small discrepancy for these values, for example if a users Portfolio value is $13,400 and their cost basis is $12,745, the Unrealized return is calculated by subtracting $12,745 from $13,400. The expected result is $655 but users are seeing a lower # like $270.
- The same discrepancy occurs with the Total return values
- Users are seeing the correct value on the web app / browser
Note: this results in the app and the web browser amounts containing different values.
Expected behavior:
- Users should expect Unrealized return and total return values to equate to the anticipated totals as broken down in the app.
- In the example above, if a user with a Portfolio value of $13,400 and their cost basis of $12,745, the Unrealized return is calculated by subtracting $12,745 from $13,400. The expected result is $655.
- Users expect that the values within the App align with what is found on the Web.
