Wrapped Ether (WETH) Support
C

Please include support for Wrapped Ether (WETH). Many DeFi and NFT transactions are conducted using wrapped ETH on various blockchains, and CoinTracker does not recognize the "asset" (WETH) being transacted. It's extremely common and can have material tax implications if a user misses an 'unmarked' transaction w/WETH. Lastly for simplicity, WETH is commonly priced on various block explorers like Etherscan and Polyscan, so the information should be available for CoinTracker to more effectively monitor these transactions. Thank you!

We have shipped support for ETH wrapping and WETH unwrapping! Wrap/unwrap transactions are now being automatically detected and the WETH side of the transaction should be automatically created.
Previously, the WETH side of wrap/unwrap transactions were not being created in CoinTracker.
For existing ETH wallets where the WETH side of the transaction has been manually created already, users are encouraged to review and remove the manual entry to prevent duplication of WETH transactions.

Khalid - CoinTracker: will these be reflected in our transaction history slowly over time or should we have already seen the new automatic transaction recognition already? I just checked and my most recent WETH/ETH unwrap from a few weeks ago (which I haven't manually touched at all) is still being seen by CT as a sale/trade with a cap gain or loss. Should I wait for it to update? (It's for a March 2022 tx so I'm not in a rush to edit it manually at this time)

CT-JQA3myO3: Hi there! This should already be reflected on all transactions. Could you please submit a bug report below so we can take a look?
Thank you for raising this!

Khalid - CoinTracker: I have lots of bridge and CEX transfers where one side is ETH and the other is WETH, but they are never connected properly so I have to mark both as transfers and insert a fake intermediate wrapping transaction. This should be handled automatically.

WETH transactions not in assets

After wrapping ETH to WETH on Metamask, the ETH is just shown leaving the wallet address but no WETH is picked up on the other side of the transaction (shown as transfer out). When you manually edit the transaction to reflect a 1:1 trade to WETH to the same wallet address (MetaMask ETH), the transaction is marked as a "Trade" but there is still no WETH balance showing in the dashboard.

Wrap/Unwrap ETH

Wrapping and Unwrapping ETH does not read the WETH transaction. (i.e. this logs as receiving ETH rather than exchanging WETH for ETH)

Is there a best practice for marking this for tax purposes?
I tried editing the unwrapping transaction to mark the input as WETH. But the result looked a little strange.

Eth to WETH

Any ETH to WETH transaction from wallets just shows up as a send of ETH with nothing in return. It should have a receiving WETH.

Not recognizing ETH to WETH wrap and unwrap - also throwing off NFT purchases in WETH...

Yes! Such a pain to see these obviously inaccurate numbers and graphs on my portfolio. What's the point?

The website seems to not always automatically assign 1 weth = 1 eth. Similar problem with dollar-pegged stablecoins on Ethereum, BSC, Avalanche not being assigned a value of $1
