complete
Sam - CoinTracker
CoinTracker has updated its edit transaction page to improve the user experience and streamline the ability to edit and manually change both simple and complex transaction. Some key improvements include:
- Multi-token support, add additional outgoing, incoming, and fee assets to your transaction
- Edit or ignore specific entries within a transaction
Here is a support article outlining our current functionality.

When adding a custom currency, users will need to confirm the custom currency has both a name and symbol filled in or they will not be able to select the custom currency in the new edit transaction page.

Here are some known behaviors our team is working to address:
Odd coin-mapping, asset icon loading behavior.
What is the experienced behavior?
- When a user makes an edit, they save. The transaction looks good but the user decides to make another edit. User may see coin-mapping issue or a blue symbol / icon that is inconsistent in appearance with other similar tokens. Image example below.
Does it affect my taxes?
- There is no expected impact in tax calculations per our testing.
Transaction type on the transactions page is not being reflected correctly after certain changes.
What is the experienced behavior?
- When a user makes edits to a transaction that would affect the type of transaction it is, for example the user sees 2 outgoing assets and 3 incoming asset, a Trade (type) but decided to ignore the 1 outgoing asset making the transaction a Receive. The user would expect to see Receive on the transactions page.
Does it affect my taxes?
- There is no impact in tax calculations per our testing.
Some tagging abilities may be limited after edits are made to a transaction.
What is the experienced behavior?
- When a user makes an edit to a transaction and saves it, tagging may be unavailable for specific transactions. We recommend tagging your transaction prior to making manual edits.
