Show holding period and cost basis distribution by coin
complete
Chandan - CoinTracker
For each coin in a user's portfolio, show what quantity of each coin is held at what basis and date it was acquired. This is very powerful because it helps people realize what trades they can make and what tax impact it will have before they actually do it, for example, to help with tax-loss harvesting.
Example
- 1 ETH @ 300$ cost basis acquired on December 31, 2018
- 2 ETH @ 400$ cost basis acquired on February 27, 2019
- 10 ETH @ 1000$ cost basis acquired on July 3, 2020
- Total: 13 ETH

Improved cost basis methods

Improved cost basis tracking methods would be helpful. For example, see methods offered by Fidelity brokerage. One option is to prioritize long term capital gains, highest cost sold first. Another is prioritize long term capital gains, lowest cost sold first. And so on for different permutations of prioritizing long/short term gains, high/low cost, etc.

Add two columns to the unrealized performance page showing the breakdown of how much of each crypto is in short term or long term capital gains.

We absolutely need this! Paying money to not have a standard brokerage feature is NUTS!
I know you want to sell tax impact but we already pay for premium portfolio reporting and can't view any real PT stats about holdings. Clearly it's known as you provide a cost basis aggregate + PnL coin stats... so please expose the underlying data.
Thank you!

This would be great to have. Any updates on when we might see it added? Thank you

The main thing I want to see on a daily basis is how my crypto is performing vs. my amount invested. Your views show performance for the day, but not my net result per coin. You have the data, so I would expect it to be an easy add.

This really seems like a no-brainer add to me. It would be SUPER helpful to be able to see at a glance how much of my portfolio is in long term gains vs short term gains, and to be able to drill down by specific coin.
You’re already calculating all of our gains and categorizing them as long/short term for tax calculations, so this seems like an easy feature to integrate!

In addition to the above I would like to choose Average Price as a cost basis method. This is recognized by the U.S. government in addition to others like LIFO, FIFO, etc.

I also would like this - I use the system of prioritizing long term gains first as well

Agree. Really important feature. Quite standard in stock brokerage accounts. My accountant also wanted to see a break down of the cost basis of each holding at the end of the financial, so she knew what value to report to the ATO for each holding.
