What is the issue?
CoinTracker misclassifies liquid staking redemptions on Solana. The system fails to detect the burn of fragBTC (Token-2022 standard) and uses the SOL gas fee as the cost basis for the received zBTC, resulting in a large phantom capital gain.
Additionally, Fragmetric-related tokens (fragBTC, wfragBTC, PTfragBTC) are marked as spam, and downstream assets such as zBTCONE (Zeus protocol) are not being detected at all.
Who is affected?
Users who interact with Fragmetric liquid staking on Solana, especially those redeeming fragBTC via the Token-2022 standard and related withdrawal flows.
What is the workaround?
Users can manually edit affected transactions and create missing transactions to accurately reflect their activity. That said, user should connect with a tax professional to determine the most appropriate reporting treatment.
⚠ Manual Edit Disclaimer
Manual edits are a temporary workaround and will not be overwritten by future fixes or re-syncs. However, manual changes can sometimes result in duplicate transactions or other unintended side effects. For this reason, edits should be made with caution. Once a permanent fix is released, manually edited transactions may need to be reviewed or removed to ensure accuracy.
